Locally Owned Flooring Store in Washington

For more than half a century, McCrorie Carpet One Floor & Home has attended the flooring, interior design, and appliance needs of the greater Olympic Peninsula. From its humble beginnings at its original Sequim store, to the small but venerable local retail chain it is today, this family-owned store has retained its deep commitment to customer service android quality products.

The story begins in 1949, when a young Bob McCrorie began selling furniture and floor coverings to a small group of clients. Less than a decade later the young entrepreneur, encouraged by his devoted followers, opened his first store, which was then known as McCrorie Thompson. During the many years to follow, the store would undergo a multitude of changes and expansions as its stellar reputation continued to grow.

In 1988, Bob’s son, John, returned to his hometown with the goal of opening a second store. John, with some help from his dad, opened his specialty flooring store just east of Port Angeles. John’s brother, David, would soon follow suit: opening a third store in Port Hadlock.

Ten years later, the McCrorie family joined forces with Carpet One Floor & Home, the world’s largest cooperative of independent flooring stores. Today, McCrorie Carpet One operates stores in Port Hadlock, Port Angeles, and Sequim, and is believed to be the largest flooring retailer on the Olympic Peninsula.

While change is necessary to meet our communities’ evolving needs, we’re happy to say some things have remained the same; namely, our commitment to caring, quality, and service. We welcome you to visit one of our three locations in Sequim, Port Hadlock, and Port Angeles, Washington, soon, and experience the warmth of a family-operated co-op for yourself.
